Imagery Analysis'

The song, Kiss Me Thru The Phone, by Soulja Boi, is an example of imagery through sight and touch. While listening to the words of the song, the listener can see the image of the man sitting by the phone just waiting until he can go and see his girlfriend. He talks about how hard it is for him because he is not with his girlfriend, but he knows that it is not possible at the time and says, "But I cannot baby girl and that's the issue." Also, imagery through touch is seen in this song when Soulja Boi says, "Kissing you in public, thinking nothing of it." This line makes the listener feel like they can see the couple actually kissing in public. Overall, Soulja Boi's song relates to struggles through hip hop and rap since the couple is struggling with being able to see each other.

Next, the song, Echo, by Gorilla Zoe, shows imagery through hearing. The entire song talks about his ex-girlfriend and how she inevitably ruined their relationship. Now, she is all by herself and hears nothing but her own echo because he no longer wants to talk to her. The listener feels like they can hear his ex-girlfriend's echo because the word "echo" is repeated nineteen times throughout the song. This line, "It's just you and your Echo!", is also repeated throughout the song to show how lonely she is. Overall, this song relates to my theme and genre because the listener can feel as though they can hear the struggles of their relationship.
