Repetition

"Mad" by Ne-Yo, uses a lot of epistrophe. This song mostly consists of chorus, which means that a lot of the words are repeated. Some of the most common words that are repeated are "screaming'", "listening", "rain", and "pain". All of these words are talking about how him and his girlfriend fight all of the time. Even though, most of the time, they do not know why they are fighting, it becomes a screaming match to see who can yell over whom the most. The repetition of these words definitely enhances the song because it is getting his point across of how ridiculous it is to be in a relationship where there is always fighting. All he wants to do is makeup and go back to the way they used to be, but he realizes how difficult it is going to be since they deal with so much "pain" and fighting. Overall, the repetition in this song makes the lyrics catchy and gets his point across to the listeners.

"Vacation" by Young Jeezy uses anaphora. The repetition in this song enhances it because Young Jeezy is talking about how "tired" he is and how badly he "needs a vacation" from his daily life. He has to deal with so much stress and it is getting to be overwhelming. He says, "I'm stressed out...so tired" which proves that he needs to find an escape. Sometimes having all of the fame and fortune that he has, becomes too much and this is why he repeats that he "needs a vacation"
